This Day in History: 1934-10-22

While competing in the Speed and Handicap sections of the MacRobertson International Air Races from London to Melbourne, Captain T. Neville Stack, Mr. S. L. Turner, and Mr. J. H. G. McArthur, representing Britain, withdrew from the race at Athens, Greece after their Airspeed Viceroy aircraft G-ACMU suffered a number of mechanical and electrical faults on 22 October 1934.
